Lightning Updates

Not such a great house tonight (17), although the audience responded more expectedly to the play. Bristol Evening Post's reviewer, Harry Mottram, was in and congratulated me after the show - he seemed to like it, although, as the play points out, this doesn't necessarily mean a thing.

Didn't get to see a copy of the Post all day and wasn't expecting the review to be printed immediately, but, when I arrived at the Alma, Sam told me that it had been and gave me the edited lowlights - three stars and something about the scenes being too short and ending just when they got going.

It was a much better house tonight (33) with a lot of friends in the audience and a lot of laughs. Again the Arthur's Seat scene played best, drawing the biggest response and there were several people in who got all the Edinburgh references.

After the show Jo assured me that the Evening Post review isn't too bad. 'You've got quotables,' she said. She's pleased because she gets a mention too.
