TAPS, the Skillset-supported charity dedicated to nurturing new scriptwriting talent through unique courses and workshops. Courses included Full Length Script Development, Television Sitcom and, new for 2006, the ITV-backed Nations and Regions courses.
TAPS also runs courses aimed at industry professionals. New for professionals this season is the Continuing Series Workshop, designed to help established writers make the move from 30-minute to 60-minute returning series.
'Theatre West was formed in 1990 by Joint Artistic Directors Alison Comley and Ann Stiddard with the aim of producing exciting, innovative and, above all, accessible theatre.
'Our first productions were at the Showboat pub on Gloucester Road in Bristol. In 1997 we worked with the brewery Scottish and Newcastle to convert the function room of the Alma Tavern in Clifton, Bristol into a purpose built 50 seat theatre, and made the move to our present home.

It was saved from demolition by Architect George Ferguson and through his vision has become a model of urban regeneration. It is now a multi-use building which houses Teoh's restaurant, a performing arts school, loft-style apartments, a café bar, offices and one of the most exciting performance venues in the country.'
