Company Biographies

Rachael Catley-Lane (Stella) is studying English and Drama at UWE and regarded her greatest role, before arriving in Bristol, as Pandora in The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole. She played Wendy in Tim Massey's Bacon Sandwich at the Alma Tavern Theatre in May this year.

Helen Colley (Carole) is in her first year of Drama and English at UWE. Her roles to date include Miranda in The Tempest and chorus member in Guys and Dolls and Fiddler on the Roof.

Gavin Martin (Johnny) is in his first year of Drama and Marketing at UWE and is from Killyleagh in Northern Ireland where his roles included Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream and John Proctor in The Crucible.

Ned Milne (Director) directed the first performances of Tim Massey's Have-a-Go Hero (2000) and Bacon Sandwich (2001) in the Alma Tavern Theatre, Bristol. He is a visiting lecturer in drama at UWE and has over 50 student productions to his name, including some which have toured Europe. He is currently preparing Dario Fo's Trumpets and Raspberries for the Centre for Performing Arts at UWE and Arthur the King for Eureka Theatre Company in Barcelona.

Kris Nuttall (lighting design) has lit a wide range of shows from operas to raves (often on the same day). Credits include Dido and Aeneas, King Arthur and Into the Woods (for Bath University Students Opera), Cabaret, Gasping and Animal Farm (for Bath University Students Theatre) and Bacon Sandwich (for cpa@uwe). Work with Opera Mint includes La Bohème, Turn of the Screw and Hansel and Gretel. Kris also works at Bath University as a lighting director and teacher.

Simon Polley (Dee) is a first year Drama student at UWE whose roles have included Caliban and Stephano in The Tempest and chorus work in Die Fledermaus and Iolanthe. He is also interested in devising drama for schools and community centres.

Richard Simmons (Stuart) is studying Drama and History at UWE. Before Bristol he was Eugene in Grease and last year he played two roles: Richard Hawk-Monitor and a 'rustic' in Cold Comfort Farm for the CPA in the QEH. He will shortly be appearing there again as a secret agent in Dario Fo's Trumpets and Raspberries.

Jess Wright (designer) graduated in design from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School this year. Her credits include design for Pericles and Laughing Wild in the New Vic Studio and costume for Pride and Prejudice and Oh What a Lovely War! in the Theatre Royal. Jess designed the set and costumes for Bacon Sandwich at the Alma Tavern in May.
